LIDAR SURVEYS

Point clouds generated by LIDAR surveys offer a remarkable set of advantages in engineering and surveying. In the context of MATHIDRO, LIDAR point clouds are especially powerful for hydrological and hydraulic studies—they allow for the highly accurate extraction of morphological characteristics of watercourses, floodplains, and watersheds, which are fundamental for flood modeling and infrastructure design.

From LIDAR to Virtual Reality. We transform raw laser scan data into an immersive and navigable experience, allowing us to:
- Virtual inspection of dams and bridges — without the need for physical travel
- Flood simulation — visualize in VR which area is flooded in different scenarios
- Communication with clients and entities — present projects in an intuitive and impactful way
- Training and instruction — simulate interventions in a safe environment before actual execution
- Heritage preservation — create permanent digital replicas of structuresClick here and start typing. Explicabo nemo enim ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas sit aspernatur aut odit aut fugit sed.

Scan to BIM - After the LIDAR survey is completed, the point cloud is exported to the modeling environment where the BIM model is created, introducing the "BIM properties" (material, thickness, LOD, etc.) for each element. The final model is exported as an IFC file (open and interoperable format) or in the software's native format, and can be used for:

      - Rehabilitation works
      - Management and maintenance
      - Structural or energy analysis
      - Asset documentation
